Accountability Courts Making a Difference

In Cobb County, programs have been established through the court systems which allow citizens to make admends for the crimes they have committed. There is a vigorous program which requires them to meet with their mentors, attend counseling, hold down a steady job and take drug testing. The program usually lasts about 18 months. When the individual has completed all requirements, they are celebrated by the court system and their records are modified. Our Rotary Club attends graduations for Veterans Court and Drug Intervention Court and awards each graduate with a gift card and a note of congratulations. This year, we also had a pizza party for those in the Drug Intervention program.
