RCMM sponsored an End Polio Night with the Atlanta Braves August 19th with part of the proceeds gong to the End Polio Fund. DG Jim Squire, Zone Polio Director Bob Hagan and over 200 Rotarians and their families attended. This also served as a Family Fun event for our members. With the Braves portion o about $2200 plus the matching from the Gates Foundation of $4400 a total of over $6600 went into the fund.
In addition President Keith was able to get Mayor Tumlin to sign a proclamation of an End Polio Day in the city of Marietta which was publicized in the Marietta Daily Journal.
As part of our ongoing efforts to combat Polio RCMM includes in our annual pledge the End Polio Campaign which encourages and enables an easier for our members to contribute to the Polio effort.
2) There is a World Polio Day on October 24, 2019.It is hoped that the Interact Clubs under the leadership of Charles Lassiter, Jim Bunda and Jim Mossman will plan special programs at their schools that day. We are also seeking to have a special ffeature in the local newspaper.
